NH AG's office identifies woman found dead in Merrimack home


MERRIMACK - Authorities say they are investigating the death of local woman, identified as Darlene Lawrence, 61, after responding to a 911 call shortly after 6 a.m. on Thursday.

N.H. Attorney General Joseph Foster, N.H. State Police Colonel Robert Quinn and Merrimack Police Chief Mark Doyle said they were alerted by a 911 call for service at 86 Back River Road at approximately 6:21 a.m.

After they arrived, police say they discovered Lawrence dead at the residence.

The circumstances of the death remain under investigation, and an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow in Concord at the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police said there is no indication that the public is in any danger as a result of the death.

According to property records, the home on Back River Road is owned by Darlene and Joseph Lawrence. Darlene Lawrence was listed as an employee with the state Department of Agriculture.
