CLAREMONT — An autopsy shows a 25-year-old Claremont man who was killed by police that he was shot three times in the chest.

The attorney general's office is investigating the death of Cody Lafont. Police responded to a call at a home early Sunday. They say Lafont was fatally wounded during a confrontation with police. His death has been ruled a homicide, caused by the gunshot wounds to the chest.

Tracy McEachern, Lafont's mother, told WCAX-TV her son loved his family, animals and racing. But he also dealt with depression and would withdraw from people.

McEachern said she still doesn't know the details of what happened that day.
