NH 301 winner Matt Kenseth may face penalties after failing post-race car inspection

LOUDON — Not so fast.

The winner of Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race - Matt Kenseth - may face penalties after his car failed a post-race inspection, according to ESPN.com

In the past, penalties for failing the inspection have included a 15-point deduction from the standings and a $25,000 fine to the crew chief, ESPN reported. However, it does not seem likely that his win would be taken away.

Kenseth is currently listed as fourth in the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings. Sunday’s race was Kenseth’s second win of the season.
