BRENTWOOD - A Newton mom accused of getting into a "tug of war" with her boyfriend over her 1-month-old daughter is guilty of second-degree assault.

Christine Tumulty was found guilty Thursday of 12 charges of second-degree assault by a jury at Rockingham County Superior Court.

Each of the charges carries a sentence of 10-30 years in prison.

Tumulty and the child's father, Allen Rockwood, had been accused of abusing the child in October.

Rockwood already had pleaded guilty to eight counts of second-degreen assault in the case.
