Newmarket man sentenced for possessing hundreds of images of child pornography

CONCORD (AP) — A Newmarket man has been sentenced to 2½ years in prison after being convicted of possession of child pornography.

Federal prosecutors said 36-year-old Brian Sorrentino was sentenced this week in U.S. District Court in Concord.

Authorities said the investigation into Sorrentino began in 2008, when investigators traced Internet activity involving child pornography to Sorrentino's residence.

Acting U.S. Attorney Donald Feith said Sorrentino admitted having child pornography images when he was confronted by police at this home.

Investigators said an analysis of his computer revealed hundreds of images of child pornography.

Once he's released from prison, Sorrentino will be placed on five years of supervised release.
