Newbury man sentenced for shooting into a Sunapee home
SUNAPEE - A Newbury man pleaded guilty Friday to reckless conduct with a firearm for firing several rounds of a 9 mm handgun into an occupied home at 17 Bradford Road in Sunapee in September.
Police say the action was intended as retaliation for a prior argument. Two people were inside the home at the time but neither was injured. During the investigation, police recovered the handgun in a small pond in Newbury.
They subsequently arrested Nicholas L. Fuchs, 29, of 193 Route 103 in Newbury and charged him with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.
Police say the judge rejected Fuch's proposal for a 12-month sentence in the county jail and sentenced him to one to two years in the state prison.
