New study ranks Durham as top 5 safest college town in America

DURHAM — Parents of University of New Hampshire students can sleep better now knowing that the campus just got a top safety ranking in America according to a new study.

In a SafeWise study of the safest college towns in America, UNH came in at fourth place overall - and first place for all of New England.

The description for UNH emphasizes the importance of the Durham police involvement with Greek community and how they provide safety training and security at social events.

SafeWise calculated their results by looking at the most recent FBI crime rates, educational programs, and general health and safety of each college town.

Keep it up and keep it safe, Wildcats!
