'You Gave So Much': NH Business Icon Dies at 92
MANCHESTER — New Hampshire has lost a very important and stylish figure in the community.
On July 7, George J. Angelopoulos, 92, of Manchester, died at his residence, according to his obituary.
Angelopoulos was the owner of George's Apparel on Elm Street in Manchester.
Angelopoulos' granddaughter posted on Facebook that her Papou "gave so much to so many in your time here on this earth."
Angelopoulos's first clothing business Squires Men's Shop opened in 1955 in Dover.
George's Apparel is a full-service men's clothing store and has been in business since 1988.
According to his obituary, Angelopoulos worked seven days a week and used to say, "When you own your own business, that's part of the deal. But if you really enjoy something, when you come to the store, it's not work. It's just enjoyment. Everything I do is with people. You come in and shake hands. I don't spend a lot of time at the office. I'm in the people business. That's what it's all about."
Funeral services will be private.
