Police: Sobriety checkpoint in Gilford resulted in 3 DWI arrests

GILFORD — Authorities in New Hampshire conducted a sobriety checkpoint in Gilford over the weekend resulting in 3 arrests.
New Hampshire State Police Troop E set up the checkpoint on Route 11 in the Town of Gilford.
According to police, a total of 261 vehicles were screened resulting in 3 driving while intoxicated arrests, 5 summonses for violation possession of marijuana, and 2 open container of alcohol violations.
The New Hampshire State Police have committed to taking an aggressive stance in utilizing safety and sobriety checkpoints as a tool to deter, detect, and apprehend anyone driving while intoxicated.
