Police: Crash In NH Kills Driver And Hospitalizes Juvenile Passenger
COLUMBIA — Authorities in New Hampshire responded to an accident in Columbia after a vehicle went off the road and hit a tree.
According to police, Douglas Elliott, 35 of Colebrook was driving eastbound along Carleton Hill Road around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday when he lost control and veered off the road. The 2010 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving hit a tree on the westbound shoulder of the roadway.
Responders airlifted the 10-year-old juvenile that was in the passenger seat to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Police say he suffered non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition.
Elliott was pronounced dead at the scene and police believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
The collision remains under investigation.
