DIXVILLE — Emergency crews responded to an ATV crash on the Flume Brook Trail in Dixville Notch Wednesday afternoon.
According to the NH Fish and Game report, Ashalee James, 29 of Central Islip, NY, crashed an ATV she had rented down a 60 feet embankment on the trail.
James had been riding in the back of her ATV group, and the group searched for nearly 30 minutes after noticing she was gone.
ATV drivers from different groups found the crash site, called 911, and brought James out to Route 26 for help.
James was brought to a helicopter landing zone and airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon to treat her serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.
James went unconscious during the crash and could not recall any details of the incident, but alcohol was not a factor according to the report.
The NH Fish and Game Department believed the accident to be caused by James' inexperience operating an ATV.
