NH Fond of Tradition When It Comes to this Top Holiday Candy Pick
Although it may not seem like a big sweets holiday, candy is a big part baking and decorating during Christmas.
This year consumers will spend $1.93 billion on candy for the holiday season.
CandyStore.com surveyed over 50,000 customers to reveal the “Top Christmas Candy by State,” and New Hampshire seems to like tradition.
According to the survey, the Granite State’s favorite Christmas candy is candy canes. Following in second and third place were Reese’s Minis and Skittles.
“New Hampshire people will not be told how to live,” stated CandyStore.com. “Though, in this case, not many people will argue with candy canes for Christmas. So, chill out NH, enjoy your canes and don’t worry about any candy oppression this year.”
Other popular candies were Hershey Kisses, Peppermint Bark, Pez, and M&M’s.
According to the survey, 1.76 billion candy canes are produced every year for the holiday season. Approximately 150 million chocolate Santas are produced annually.
