Maine Man Arrested For Attempted Murder in Manchester Shooting
MANCHCESTER — A Maine man was arrested and charged with attempted murder following a Thanksgiving day shooting in Manchester.
Police say Jeremy Sterling, 25, of Waterboro, Maine, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and reckless conduct.
Police responded to a shots fired call at 2:45 p.m. yesterday in the area of Brown Avenue and O’Malley Street. Detectives learned a 39-year-old Manchester women sustained several gunshot wounds as a result of the incident, which occurred in the parking lot of 355 Brown Avenue.
Police had located Sterling in that parking lot shortly after the shooting. He was taken into custody and later charged.
The female victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her torso and is currently being treated at an area hospital and is listed in critical condition. Officers spoke with multiple witnesses who claimed to have seen the shooting incident take place. Officers also spoke with several occupants of 355 Brown Ave. and 359 Brown Ave. after the residents discovered bullet holes in their respective apartments.
Sterling is scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on Friday.
