New Hampshire opens it's first medical marijuana dispensary

PLYMOUTH — The first medical marijuana dispensary in the state opened on Saturday.

Sanctuary ATC (alternative treatment center) is dispensing therapeutic cannabis to qualified patients and designated care givers that are registered with the ATC.

“When the Therapeutic Cannabis Program was established by the Legislature, it envisioned that people in New Hampshire suffering from serious medical conditions would be able to access therapeutic cannabis for relief. I am very pleased to announce that with the opening of the Sanctuary dispensary in Plymouth, that day has arrived,” said DHHS Commissioner Jeffrey A. Meyers.

This is the first of four dispensary locations. Within the next few weeks Dover and Lebanon will be opening and Merrimack will be open by the end of the summer.

Applications for potentially qualifying patients and designated caregivers, medical provider certification, and other important information can be found on the Therapeutic Cannabis Program page on the DHHS website.
