New Hampshire man in jail on probation violation arrested in 1987 Roxbury homicide

MANCHESTER — A Manchester man is facing charges in a decades old Roxbury, Mass., homicide.

Police arrested James Paige, 50, of Manchester, for a probation violation on Friday. Paige was arrested in 2015 on drug-related charged.

When Paige was being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections on the violation, Boston police issued a warrant for his arrest in connection to a 1987 homicide.

New DNA evidence led to the warrant in the killing of 19-year-old Dora Brimage on Sept. 7, 1987. Brimage was beaten and strangled in the Grove Hall section of Boston, according to an autopsy report published by the Boston Globe.

Paige is also facing a fugitive from justice charge.

Paige was arraigned on Tuesday and will appear back in court on Thursday. He will be held without bail until then.
