New Hampshire Fish and Game rallies vote for their dog "Sig"

The Associated Press

CONCORD - N.H. Fish and Game officials are working hard to get out the vote, but their efforts have nothing to do with the state's presidential primary.

They're rallying votes for their K9 — Sig — to be named top law enforcement dog at the Red Sox Law Enforcement Appreciation Night on July 27. Online voting will help determine the winner.

Sig will be one of six New England K9s and their human partners honored before the game, when one of the dogs will be named K9 Hero of the Year.

Sig is vying against one other New Hampshire dog — Daisy Mae of the Strafford County Sheriff's Office — and dogs from Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Sig last August tracked and located a lost young boy in Rumney.

Anyone can vote for their favorite K9 team here.
