New Hampshire crews assisting with wildfires to return home
The Associated Press
CONCORD — Authorities say New Hampshire fire crews fighting a wildfire in Montana are being reassigned.
Authorities say the Montana wildfire has been completely contained after being sparked last month by a lightning strike. New Hampshire crews worked for a week in Montana.
But the state Division of Forest & Lands now says the crew is going to assist with a more than 6,000-acre fire in Idaho's Clearwater National Forest. Authorities say those fires are only 30 percent contained.
New Hampshire crews are patrolling the fire line and trying to prevent soil erosion by restoring burned areas.
The crew is expected to return home next week.
