New England town aims to stop messy Halloween shenanigans with age restrictions

ABINGTON, Mass. — A New England town is making every effort to prevent messy shenanigans this Halloween by asking local stores not sell typical prank items to those under the age of 18.

Teenagers in the Abington, Mass., should expect to be ID'd for the following items: Toilet paper, soap, eggs, shaving cream, and spray paint.

The temporary ban will last from Oct. 28 until Nov. 1. The ban is voluntary and has been around for more than a decade.

The ban allegedly started due a "messy Halloween prank" about 12 years ago, according to Fox 25.
