BURNHAM, Maine — A 2-year-old boy died on Monday when he was accidentally run over by a tractor, which was driven by grandfather.

Raymond Rayeski Sr., 54, was watching his grandson, Raymond Rayeski III, when he accidentally backed up over him. The two were allegedly outside working with a tractor around a woodpile on the property when the child decided to get off the tractor and play according to WCSH.

The grandfather continued to operate the tractor and was cleaning up debris and dumping items a short distance away. The boy then ran after the grandfather on the tractor, who was backing up and did not see the boy.

Rayeski drove the boy to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield where he died.

After an investigation, detectives determined the cause of death a tragic accident.
