It's been a mild month and parts of the Granite State will hit 80 degrees Wednesday.
Major weather changes are coming by this weekend, however.
A cold front will move into the state on Friday, bringing clouds and showers. It'll be one last mild day, with high temperatures in the 60s to near 70.
This front may link up with a tropical system south of New England, forming a stronger storm that would cross through with heavier downpours Friday night into the first part of Saturday. This could bring a beneficial, soaking rain to part of the area, but it will depend on just how quickly the front and the tropical system phase together.
The storm will move into southern Canada during the weekend, and a colder, Canadian air mass will follow.
Blustery northwesterly winds with gusts over 25 mph will occur on the back side of the storm Saturday and Sunday. The beautiful foliage show will likely come to an end in much of northern New England, as leaves will be stripped from many trees in the gusty winds.
The air will likely turn cold enough for rain to change to snow in the favorable upslope areas of New York and northern New England.
Higher elevations of the Adirondacks, northern Greens, and and northern White Mountains may see an accumulating snow of up to a few inches in places by later Sunday.
