New England Patriots looking for more out of Martin, Dobson after Edelman injury

FOXBOROGH - The Patriots may be undefeated, but they've suffered another loss to their roster.

The Patriots closest game was this past Sunday, and they squeaked by the Giants with a 27-26 win

However, for the second week in a row, the Patriots suffered a big hit in their offense with the loss of star receiver Julian Edelman.

Edelman broke his foot, and it reportedly requires a screw to fix. He's expected to miss 4-6 weeks but could return for the playoffs in January as the Patriots aeem to be on their way to winning the AFC East.

But as the team says, he's just not replaceable.

"It's impossible to plug in those Julian Edelmans - they aren't just sitting out in the street," said Tom Brady. "If they were, they'd be playing for another team."

That means the Patriots will have to rely on KeShawn Martin, Aaron Dobson and rookie Chris Harper who the Patriots signed from the practice squad this week.

"The guys that are going to be in there, we have confidence in what they do well," said Brady. "I think the expectations are still the same, we expect to go out there and score points, every time we touch the ball. It may take a different shape."

"We start by getting a match or feel for each other," said Brandon Bolden who's had to take on more responsibility at running back in Dion Lewis' absence. "If I know you can do this and you can't do that, we'll work on that until you can and that's what we do. We hold each other accountable- we stay on each other pretty hard."
