New data system leaves Merrimack customer cards declined

A big problem at a local bank. Many customers who bank with Merrimack County Savings Bank could not use their debit cards all weekend.

Some customers had their debit cards declined while other customers saw incredibly inflated balances.

Staff at Merrimack Savings said they had a new data system put in place this weekend to protect their customers. But customers saw the effects of instillation hick-ups.

"At no time was any of our customers information compromised. No time was our customer information wrong and it was never compromised in any way, no one had access to information they shouldn't have had access to," President and CEO Paul Rizzi said.

Rizzi said all accounts will be back to normal by the end of the week.
