New collection box set up to collect unused medications in Cheshire County

KEENE - A new grant has enabled the Cheshire County Sheriff's Office to set up a collection box for community members to get rid of unused prescriptions.

The sheriff's office announced the grant from CVS on this week, saying: "The new unit is intended to reduce the amount of unneeded medicine in residents’ homes and decrease prescription drug abuse, which has soared in recent years, especially among teenagers."

The collection box at 12 Court St. will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. Medications can be dropped off there with no questions asked.
