New app from UNH to help sexual assault survivors

DURHAM (AP) — Faculty and staff at 23 New Hampshire colleges and universities are getting instant access to a free mobile phone app providing information that can help sexual assault survivors.

The uSafeNH app was developed by the Prevention Innovations Research Center at the University of New Hampshire and students in the UNH-Manchester STEM Discovery Lab.

The app provides information on local crisis centers, hospitals, campus resources and police. It will be free to all New Hampshire colleges and universities this fall, with the goal of expanding it to other states.

Funding was provided by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and several statewide partnerships.
