Neighbors question Manchester toddler's homicide, investigators continue search for answers

MANCHESTER – Investigators are continuing their search for answers in the homicide death of a queen city toddler.

Detectives from the Manchester Police Department have been working with the N.H. Attorney General trying to find family members and others who had contact with the child in the hours leading up to her death.

The neighborhood where the little girl was from is filled with children.

Brady Jones lives near Belmont Street and is concerned for younger family members.

“I mean, I have nieces and nephews over,” said Jones.

People who saw the toddler hours before the 911 call was made are still trying to figure out how a child could have died here.

"It's sad, it really is sad. You know, I feel for the family,” said Jones.

One neighbor who didn't want to be identified told NH1 News, “I hear a whole bunch of different stories I hear that they hit her. But the older Spanish lady was babysitting her.”

The Attorney General not yet commenting if an arrest will be made. Pictures were taken from Wednesday night, of detectives back at the scene still interviewing family members.

Investigators are still not clear on who was at home with the little 21-month old girl before her death.

After rumors surfaced the child was home alone, neighbors, like Gina Carr, have weighed in on the chance the child was home alone.

“He’s still putting things in his mouth and you can't I’m constantly watching him I never let him out of my sight. He's always with someone- you can't leave (them) alone,” said Carr.

The woman who lives in the apartment has not been seen back on Belmont Street.

NH1 News reached out to the DCYF and they could not confirm or deny if they have visited the home before.
