Neighbors come to the aid of Nashua couple when their home catches fire

NASHUA - Neighbors who noticed fire coming from the attic of a home at 47 Pinehurst Ave. called 911 and helped the couple who lived there get out before firefighters arrived.

According to fire officials, smoke was coming from the attic of the two-story single-family home when they arrived. Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze and rescued a cat from inside the home. There was heavy fire damage to the attic and smoke and water damage throughout the structure.

Firefighters say the fire remains under investigation but say it may have been caused by an electrical problem.
