Nature center to hold open house on shooting, trapping

The Associated Press

CONCORD — Families looking to try target shooting and archery may want to venture to a New Hampshire nature center.

The Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness is hosting an open house on Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Visitors can fire shotguns at clay targets and target shoot with rifles. There will be BB guns for children to shoot and all are invited to experience a video-based interactive shooting simulator.

The open house also will feature a tree stand safety seminar and demonstrations by retrieving dogs and members of the N.H. Trappers Association.

Guests will be treated to free ice cream donated by Granite State Dairy Promotions.

The nature center is operated by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
