Natural gas supply to be topic of industry summit in Manchester

MANCHESTER (AP) - New Hampshire's four major utilities are gathering in Manchester for a summit on energy policy and regulation, including a focus on tight natural gas supplies.
New England is bedeviled by limited gas pipeline capacity that keeps the region from taking advantage of a national boom in natural gas production.
That can mean higher prices for consumers so utilities and state regulators are discussing ways to expand pipeline capacity.
On Wednesday, the state Business and Industry Association will host the energy seminar in Manchester. Representatives from Public Service of New Hampshire, Liberty Utilities, Unitil, and New Hampshire Electric Cooperative will be on hand.
Besides regional natural gas supplies, topics include navigating energy markets for budget success, and siting energy projects and how that impacts electricity rates.
