National Weather Service says microburst in Plaistow had winds as high as 90 mph
PLAISTOW - The National Weather Service has confirmed a powerful storm that ripped through town Monday included a microburst.
John Jensenius with the NWS said the microburst included 80-90 mph winds, was 2 miles wide and 1.6 miles long. It caused damage to many homes and buildings in the town, lots of road closures, snapped and uprooted hundreds of trees and downed utility poles and wires.
Many residents are spending today cleaning up their yards and the NWS damage team is surveying the area today.
