Nashua to swear in new mayor, new aldermen in Sunday inauguration

NASHUA - The changing of the guard at Nashua City Hall starts Sunday with the inauguration of Mayor-elect Jim Donchess and the swearing in of about 60 other newly-elected officials.

The ceremony is scheduled for noon in the Nashua North high school auditorium. Donchess takes over as mayor after Donnalee Lozeau served in the post since 2007. Lozeau was Nashua's first female mayor. She opted not to run for re-election in 2015.

Sunday's ceremony also means new aldermen and a new leader of the Board of Aldermen -- Alderman-at-Large Brian McCarthy.

The swearing-in ceremony will be followed by an organizational meeting of the aldermen and a public reception.
