Nashua student suffering from apparent seizure found with loaded handgun

NASHUA — A loaded handgun was found in a student's backpack after he suffered an apparent seizure.

The Nashua High School South resource officer requested an ambulance for the 17-year-old student who appeared to be having a seizure Thursday at about 9:42 a.m.

School administration searched the student's backpack in an effort to determine if the student ingested something that could have contributed to his medical issues.

The backpack contained a loaded handgun and that firearm was subsequently seized by police.

The student was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Division were notified and are furthering the investigation. This includes investigating why the juvenile brought the firearm to school.
