Nashua schools considering extended school day

NASHUA — The Nashua School District is considering extending school days to make up for time lost due to snow days.

The Nashua Telegraph reported that school officials met Wednesday to discuss a plan to add 15 minutes to the morning and ten in the afternoon.

No official changes to the school day have been made to the school day yet, and the discussion will now move to the teachers union.

The president of the Nashua Teachers' Union said in a social media post that the superintendent will meet with the teachers union to discuss adding time to to the end of the day, not the beginning.

Opponents of the plan said changing the starting and ending times of the school day would cause transportation issues and scheduling issues for work and sports.
