Nashua police: Man arrested for being in car with woman with protective order against him

NASHUA - A man was arrested after he was found in a car with a woman he was ordered to not be in contacted with, police said.

Police arrested Christopher Mainguy, 39 of Nashua, after they pulled him over and discovered that he was the defendant in a protective court order. Another person in the car with Mainguy was discovered to be the protected party/plaintiff of that order.

Mainguy was charged with violation of a protective order, and in addition was wanted on an outstanding warrant for violation of a protective order stemming from a prior incident.

An investigation showed that Mainguy had a previous conviction for the same offense within the past six years and also had been convicted in relation to abuse. As a result, the charges for violation of a protective order were upgraded to Class B felonies.

Mainguy was held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
