Nashua Police arrest man accused of several sexual assaults


NASHUA - Nashua Police arrested 70-year-old John Heitkamp of Nashua on an outstanding warrant for a slew of sexual assault charges on Wednesday.

The arrest came as a result of two alleged victims meeting with the Special Investigation Department on Dec. 29. Heitkampt allegedly assaulted the youths between July and Oct. 2014.

Heitkamp faces seven charges of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault and one count of Second Degree Assault-Strangulation.

Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assualt, a Class A Felony, is punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment and Second Degree Assault-Srangulation, a Class B Felony, is punishable up to seven years imprisonment exlusive of fines.

Heitkamp is being held on $50,000 cash bail and was arraigned Friday under the 2nd Circuit District Division Court in Nashua.
