Nashua Office of Emergency Management holds summit to create disaster plans

NASHUA — Nashua's PrepareAthon is bringing together 50 community leaders for a disaster simulation on Friday.

The summit, held by the City of Nashua Office of Emergency Management will simulate the response to a disaster in Nashua through a table-top exercise.

The Greater Nashua Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), a not-for-profit, non-partisan membership organization, will be assisting at the summit.

The campaign known as "America's PrepareAthon!" pushes for enhanced individual and community preparedness.

The goal of the campaign is to increase the number of people who know about relevant disaster possibilities in their area and know what to do to stay safe.
