Nashua North, South football Friday night at Stellos Stadium

NASHUA – There’s nothing like a good rivalry to spice up the first half of a football season. Or is there? Both the Nashua High School North and South football teams go into Friday’s 7 p.m. intra-city matchup at Stellos Stadium at 1-2 on the season and badly needing a win. They each have their own perspectives on the significance of this one. “It’s our first conference game, so this becomes an important game, rivalry or not,” South coach Scott Knight said. “It’s key.” What’s different is that both teams are going into this below .500, rare for this rivalry, which South leads overall 14-7. The Panthers have won the last four regular season meetings and last year swept the series with wins of 35-27 (regular season) and 41-21 (Thanksgiving).
