Nashua man hit and killed during car crash in Jamaica while there for wedding
NASHUA — A Nashua man was one of two pedestrians that was hit and killed in a car accident in Jamaica.
Christopher Leite, 33, was killed by a car on Monday - his birthday - near Sandy Bay in Barbican, Hanover, according to the Union Leader. Leite and another man, Damion Jones, 34, got off of the minibus and were standing on the side of the road when someone lost control of their car and crashed into the minibus, striking the two men.
Both men died of head and body injuries.
Leite's family have made it their mission to get his body home. They have started a GoFundMe page, and have raised well over the expected amount. The Leite family raised $21,100 of their $20k goal within one day.
"We have to get Chris home to the US and it is going to be very expensive. Time is of the essences as he has friends in Jamaica that are there and can escort him home," Leite's family wrote on a GoFundMe page.
