Nashua man arrested for allegedly dangling toddler over Merrimack River safety fence

MANCHESTER - A 32-year-old Nashua man was arrested after police said he was swinging his 21-month-old over a safety fence over the Merrimack River.

According to police, Matthew Jordan took his daughter on the river side of the fence separating Arms Park on 74 Arms Street.

When officers arrived, they said Jordan was seen releasing the grip on the toddler as she stood on the opposite side of the safety fence approximately 20 feet above the moving river.

The police officer said the little girl was holding on to the fence.

Jordan allegedly grabbed the child again and pulled her over to the right side of the fence while the officer spoke with him.

Jordan was charged with two counts of reckless conduct.
