Nashua man arrested after police say he led them on high-speed chase
Police arrested a Nashua man after a high-speed chase on Interstate 93 on Wednesday morning, police said.
At 7:21 a.m. a state trooper working construction detail in Windham said he saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.
The trooper said he saw the vehicle weaving in and out of traffic, traveling in the breakdown lane and driving in excess of 100 mph before he caught up with it several miles south of Exit 3.
The trooper clocked the vehicle at a top speed of 126 mph near the Massachusetts state line and he identified the vehicle as a white 2013 Hyundai Sonata registered in New Hampshire.
The trooper called off the pursuit at that point because of traffic and weather conditions.
The vehicle was identified as a rental vehicle that had been rented to Frederick Dehner, 41, of Nashua.
Police said Dehner admitted to being involved in the police chase when found at his home.
Police said Dehner attempted to flee on foot but was caught. He was taken to the State Police - Troop B barracks in Bedford where he was charged with felony - reckless conduct; reckless driving; disobeying an officer and resisting arrest. Dehner refused the services of a bail commissioner and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Salem district court.
