Nashua man allegedly placed a fake Craigslist ad that drew strangers to a Hollis girl's home

HOLLIS - A Nashua man who allegedly placed a 17-year-old's Hollis address on Craigslist saying she was interested in a sexual encounter is under arrest for harassment and stalking after two strangers showed up on her doorstep.

Police say Jason Hunter, 30, of 5 Howard St., had gathered information on social media about the victim's home, workplace and friends and had been harassing the young woman via Facebook, texts and email since December. The harassment escalated when he placed information in an online ad and two men arrived at her home in response to the fraudulent ad.

Hunter was identified as a suspect and arrested Thursday following a police investigation. Hunter allegedly met the victim at work. He and the victim were acquaintances but had never been in a relationship of any kind, police said.

Hunter is being held on $5,000 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in Nashua District Court on March 10.
