Nashua man accused of trying to steal bottle of wine


NASHUA - A city man is accused of trying to stealing a bottle of wine from Shaw's.

Police responded to the theft call at 300 Main St. around 1:30 Monday and found Warren Picard, 52, of no fixed address.

Picard had been detained by loss prevention officers at the grocery store. Police also said Picard had an electronic bench warrant for not appearing in court.

Picard was charged with theft by unauthorized taking, class B felony, after it was discovered that he had two previous theft convictions.

Picard is scheduled to be arraigned at Nashua district court on Tuesday.

A Class B felony is punishable by up to seven years in prison.
