Nashua couple charged in connection with fake checks


NASHUA - Police arrested two people accused of writing checks from a closed bank account, depositing them in another account and then withdrawing funds before the old checks could bounce.

Police charged Richard Marchant, 24, and Lindsay Karos, 23, both of 10 Mulberry Street in Nashua, with theft by deception after an investigation following a complaint by TD Bank on Jan. 6.

Karos also was charged with criminal liability for the conduct of another. Both charges are class A felonies punishable by up to 15 years in prison

Marchant and Karos are scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on March 15.
