Nashua bomb squad finds suspicious box near Hudson Walmart to contain propane tank

HUDSON — Police deployed a bomb squad and robot to investigate a suspicious package that appeared outside a Walmart on Lowell Road Saturday.

Police responded to a call at 3:45 p.m. about a suspicious brown box that was sealed in packing tape, placed in a shopping cart, and left in the parking lot near the main entrance of the store.

Walmart employees instructed customers to exit out the side of the store after police and Hudson fire personnel closed the parking lot.

Nashua Police Department Bomb Squad was summoned to the scene.

The squad deployed a robot, and Explosive Ordinance Technicians who X-rayed the box, and determined it contained a propane tank, but nothing else. It was not deemed to be hazardous.

Hudson police removed the box and the tank, and are investigating who left it outside the store.

Walmart resumed normal business at 5:45 p.m.
