Nam Knights of America Motorcycle Club sponsors food drive for active duty families

PORTSMOUTH — The Nam Knights of America Motorcycle Club will be putting on a veteran food drive for active duty families.

The food drive will be at the Shaw's Supermarket on Woodbury Avenue from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 19 and 20.

The donated food and non-perishable items are donated directly to the Navy Chaplain’s Fund at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Community members may drop off any canned or other non perishable food items and gift cards/certificates may also be left to be distributed to the financially disadvantaged active duty military families.

“These generous donations of food help our active duty military families make ends meet," said Dave Schuppert, Chapter President. “It a national shame that our active duty brothers and sisters have to ask for food during the winter months but we, as veterans and as a community, are here to help them”
