Mystery man arrested in Salem for using fake ID

SALEM - State Police are trying to learn the true identity of a man they say used a fake ID to apply for a driver's license.

Police say a man claiming to be 35-year-old Andres Huertas Ortiz of Lawrence, Mass., attempted to apply for a driver's license at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Salem using fraudlent paperwork and a false address.

The man was arrested on multiple counts of Tampering with Public Records and Unsworn Falsification.

State Police are still trying to identify the true identity of the man claiming to be Huertas Ortiz and are asking anyone with information to contact Trooper James O'Leary at (603) 223-8778.
