Multi-vehicle crash in Lee sends 3 people, including 10-year-old girl, to hospital
LEE — Three people had to be transported to the hospital after a cargo van rear-ended another vehicle and pushed it into oncoming traffic Tuesday morning.
Lee police said around 9:11 a.m. they responded to Route 125 about a half mile north of Route 152 for a multi-vehicle crash with injury.
Upon arrival, they learned that a 2010 Toyota Corolla being driven by a 21-year-old female with a 10-year-old female in the backseat was stopped on Route 125 South waiting to turn left into the Coffee Cravings parking lot when it was rear ended by a 2003 Ford Econoline van being operated by a 71-year-old male. The Corolla was then pushed into the path of a northbound 2011 Nissan Sentra being driven by a 19-year-old female.
The occupants of the Corolla and the driver of the Sentra were transported to the hospital with possible injuries, and officials said the 10-year-old girl's injuries might be serious.
The operator of the van was not injured, and police said the crash is still under investigation.
