Mount Monroe

SARGENTS – Named after a former U.S. president, Mt. Monroe is one of the highest mountains in the NH. Mount Monroe is 5,372 feet and is not accessible by road but instead by several trails. Between Mount Monroe and neighboring Mount Washington, is the Lakes of the Clouds – a picturesque set of small ponds. Monroe is a challenging mountain with rocky and steep terrain.

"There are numerous waterfalls along the way and one of the best of these, a double waterfall, requires a short detour from the main trail to see."

No. 2 Mount Chocorua
