Motorcyclist dead after crash in Londonderry

LONDONDERRY - Police say a motorcyclist has died of injuries he sustained after hitting a car in front of the FedEx Ship Center on Commerce Avenue early Friday morning.

Police say a helicopter was called for the injured man, but as his condition worsened, he was taken to the Elliot Hospital in Manchester by ambulance. He was declared dead shortly after 9 a.m.

The driver of the car, a 2007 Honda Accord, was not injured. Police say the driver is cooperating with them, and they do not suspect speed or impairment as the cause of the crash. Police are not releasing names so they can notify family first.

Londonderry police are asking any previously unidentified witnesses to the accident to contact Detective Sergeant Adam Dyer or Officer Brain Allaire at 603-432-1118.
