Mother posts scary warning to parents about tick paralysis after young daughter can't walk

A Oregon mother is warning other parents after some scary moments where her young daughter started to have trouble standing and walking.

In a viral video posted to her Facebook page on May 13, Amanda Lewis wrote that her daughter Evelyn started acting strange around bedtime and by morning she had a hard time standing and could barely walk or crawl.

After taking the girl to the emergency room, a doctor said it likely could be tick paralysis and started searching the girl's body.

Lewis said a tick eventually was found on her daughter's head hidden by her hair.

The video has been viewed more than 5 million times. Lewis wanted others to see it as a warning. She posted an update saying Evelyn is now back to her normal self.

"My husband and I are still in shock that this happened to our baby girl and I'm glad we were able to spread some awareness about this," Lewis wrote.
