Mother hurt after 12-year-old son loses control of ATV

The Associated Press

PITTSBURG — A woman has suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries after her 12-year-old son lost control of their ATV as they descended a steep trail in Pittsburg.

Fish and Game conservation officers said the vehicle went off the edge of the trail on Thursday afternoon, causing it to roll over. It happened on a connector trail that connects Perry Brook Trail to Indian Stream Road.

They said 47-year-old Jodi Balint of Alton, New Hampshire, a passenger, was injured. Her son was driving and was not hurt.

Officers said inexperience seems to be the primary cause of the accident.
